Cochran, Jacqueline, and Maryann Bucknum. Brinley. Jackie Cochran: An Autobiography. Toronto: Bantam, 1987. Print.
This book is one of the few autobiographies written by a female aviator. It features many photos, and statistics about Jacqueline’s life. I used photos and quotes from this book. Mrs. Cochran explains how she moved from poverty to becoming a superior aviator. The story about her starting from poverty is controversial and some say she used it for attention and publicity. She talks about how most of her gains are from her hard work and competitive nature with not much credit to other women before her.
Lindbergh, Anne Morrow. Gift from the Sea. New York: Pantheon, 1955. Print.
Quotes from this book of personal thoughts (“Women need solitude in order to find again the true essence of themselves.” “When you love someone you do not love them, all the time, in the exact same way, from moment to moment. It is an impossibility. It is a lie to pretend to. And yet this is exactly what most of us demand. We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love, of relationships.”)were used from Anne Morrow Lindbergh with her describing how she struggled with balancing family and her love of aviation and other interests. Quotes were used on her individual page.

"My ambition is to have this wonderful gift produce practical results for the future of commercial flying and for the women who may want to fly tomorrow's planes."- I used information from this site for my page "Trailblazers". It was used to help me understand the struggles of the early aviators. Not just the laws in place but peoples attitudes towards women.

I used a quote of word “research” on my research page.
Chritchell Cummings, Iris. Oral and written personal interview by Keri Kittleson. 3 Mar. 2015
Used on website for WAFS and WASP’s. This was an email and phone conversation interview. We communicated back and forth over 2 weeks. Iris's memory is very good and her details of flying a ferry mission was informative and funny. She also talked about being in the 1936 Olympics and seeing the Hindenburg fly over the Olympic Stadium and the darkness of Nazism and Hitler. This interview is in depth and adds so much personal history and excitement to my website. Iris's legacy in aviation is a part of theme this year and her answers to questions about WAF leader Nancy Love adds proof in a history of how respected Nancy Love was to the pilots she worked with.
